Her advanced studies have been with Dr. Richard Tan and Kiiko Matsumoto. Helen graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1973 and worked in staff and managerial nursing in Neonatal Intensive Care for over 20 years. In 1998, she authored an article for the Nurse Practitioner Forum (Nurse to Acupuncturist: A Personal Transition) giving a brief synopsis of Chinese Medicine. She is a contributing author of the book Natural, Alternative, and Complementary Health Care Practices by Huebscher and Shuler, published in 2003. Helen is a guest lecturer at Alverno College and Marquette University in Milwaukee. She has maintained a private acupuncture practice in the Milwaukee area since 1991. Helen began her study with Dr. Hammer in 1997 and has been certified by him to teach Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis.
